- US Census Bureau: County Business Patterns and ZIP Code Business Patterns, complete data files. A year's data is released about 18 months after the March reference date. Retrieved 2026-10-01. ZIP Code Business Patterns publishes establishments by industry and the all industries employment and payroll of each ZIP code; employment by industry is not published for ZIP codes.
- Validated against the Bureau's state table on every build: for every year and industry the 67 counties are added up and compared with the published Florida row. Establishments agree exactly through 2016; from 2017 the Bureau drops any county cell with fewer than three establishments, so the counties may fall short of the state by at most two per county without the code. Employment and payroll agree exactly wherever every county publishes the code and none is withheld. ZIP detail is compared with ZIP totals the same way.
- Withheld and noisy figures. Employment and payroll the Bureau withholds are shown as its employment size range. From 2017 the Bureau adds noise to employment and payroll and flags how much; the flag is on each card. Establishment counts are never withheld or noised.
- Classification. NAICS from 1998, in the vintage each year's file uses; SIC two digit codes before, kept as their own series. The all industries total runs from 1986.
